2024 Spring Program Guide (final) copy

On April 8th, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. SOLAR ECLIPSE APRIL 2024 A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. You can expect the temperature to drop about 10 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) depending on the humidity and cloud cover at your location. When looking at the Solar Eclipse, make sure you wear protective glasses, also known as “solar glasses” to stay safe. On average, the Earth and Moon are about 150 million kilometres (or 93 million miles) from the Sun! The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. The longest duration of totality is 4 minutes, 28 seconds, near Torreón, Mexico.
