Passports

The East Cleveland Public Library began offering passport services starting September 3, 2019.

Now a designated Passport Acceptance Facility for the U.S. Department of State, ECPL offers passport processing and photo services to travelers. While applications will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis, all travelers, especially families of four or more, are encouraged to call the Library in advance to determine the approximate wait time.

Passport Services are available by appointment only, from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday. The passport application process takes approximately 20-60 minutes per applicant. To ensure that there is enough time to complete the process, please arrive at least an hour and a half before the library closes. Keep in mind that more time may be required for cases involving citizenship, parental guardianship, or last-minute travel.

Patrons who need to receive their passport in two weeks or less, please call the National Passport Information center 877-487-2778 to make an appointment at a local passport center to get it processed in time. Passport applications may be picked up at the Library or downloaded below. Form more applications please visit the State Department website.

Patrons needing to renew their passport are also welcome, renewal forms are available online through the State Department website, and at the East Cleveland Public Library. Application fees may be found on the Travel.State.Gov website. For questions regarding passports please feel free to call the Library at 216-541-4128 ext. 6234 to speak with one of our certified passport agents. Patrons may also visit the U.S. Department of State’s passport information page for more details and special circumstances or call the National Passport Information Center at 877-487-2778.
