September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month
Libraries across Cuyahoga County are celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up month (September 1-30) with A Card for Every Kid Challenge which aims to put a library card into the hands of every child under 18 in Cuyahoga County.
You can celebrate in two ways:
1. Get your child a new library card. It’s easy: just visit your local library!
2. If your child already has a card but has fines, bring your child to your library to have those fines forgiven.
*Fine forgiveness is a one-time benefit of the campaign.
Visit your community library beginning September 1 to ensure that every child in Cuyahoga County has a library card.
Visit Euclid Public Library, Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library, Cleveland Public Library, Cuyahoga County Public Library, East Cleveland Public Library, Lakewood Public Library, Rocky River Public Library, Shaker Heights Public Library, and Westlake Porter Public Library anytime during National Library Card Sign Up Month to register for a library card or to receive a one-time waiver of fines and fees.
Children’s Department – The Debra Ann November Learning Center
The East Cleveland Public Library is a great place to get excited about learning. It is also the place where children ages birth to twelve can experience new adventures. The attractive and colorful location invites children to explore and get lost in learning. Ultimately, the Library’s goal is to provide a great space for learning, education, and entertainment through creative programs for children.
ECPL offers an exciting partnership with The Literacy Cooperative and Dolly Parton Imagination Library, enabling children aged birth to five in East Cleveland to receive a free book every month in the mail at home. Parents and guardians can sign up in the Children's Room, at the Circulation Desk, or upstairs in the AV department or the computer lab. Return completed forms to an ECPL staff person, and look for the first book in the mail in 6-8 weeks!
